Judgement day

Remember that time on judgement day

When we looked at each other and realised that we’d forgotten to pray…

And all you could think to say was

Yeah but…..come on man….I'm a really good cook

I learnt four languages, read two hundred and twenty books

Raised four kids

Loved my husband

And all my neighbours

And their second cousins

And their new puppy

And grandma jones

And the guy at the bus stop always on the phone

And then she said

I loved the first guy who told me I was ugly

I love his honesty

I thought it was lovely

And then he said

I loved my mum

Who I never met

And I loved Tracey and Tom

And Casey and John

And the guy with the smile so beautiful I forgot to take his number and tell him I loved him

But I loved him

And she loved him

And he loved him

And he loved her

And the love was

INFINITE

And washed away their sins

Because life moves so fast

and demands to be lived….before you can even ask

That we just… forgot to pray

But luckily 
we were saved

Because we loved each other

Day after day after day after day
